Dave Dourson

Dave Dourson is the co-owner and co-founder of Kinetic Performance Dog Food (KPDF).  Dave and his business partner, John Howard, met while working for a large, mid-west based, pet food company in 2009.  It was there where the witnessed firsthand the “real factors” that are considered when companies select the ingredient of most canine foods currently being offered to the public. With a desire to focus on animal health over profitability, the two left corporate America and started their own company in 2011. The pair spent months working with Scientist from Alltech (the leader in Animal Nutritional) along with various kennels from across the United States with a goal of creating the finest formulation for working and sporting dogs on the market.

Dave has conducted countless canine nutritional seminars across the United States, Canada and Great Britain for various divisions of the Department of Defense, Homeland Security, USSS, Military, DEA, DHS/TSA and Intercom, as well as thousands of state and local police departments.

Dave and John are recognized as two of the top, no nonsense, nutritional experts in the field teaching the handler how to quickly identify deficiencies in their K9 partner.

Class Description: K-9 Nutrition: Is your dog on the right fuel and how do you know?

Does your dog itch continuously, lose hair, have a dull-stiff or brittle coat, show signs of coat dander or flaking?  Do you feed him 5-6-7-8 cups of food or more a day to maintain their weight?  Do your dog’s stools look like a cow patty, are they gassy?  Does it take them forever to recoup from a long track, do they burn out early?  There are reasons for this and you don’t have to look much further than the bag of food…

This is a fast paced, interactive class that talks directly to you—not over you.  During the class you will learn some of the industry “tricks” that Pet Food Companies can use legally to shorten nutrition profiles and ingredient costs in order to make their food more profitable.   You will not only learn how to read the nutritional label, BUT most importantly; how to read your canine for possible issues they are having.

What most of us assume is that you can feed a companion pet the same way you feed a Canine Athlete----nothing is further from the truth.  Simply stated; you don’t put an 84-octane in a corvette and expect it to perform.  We will show you before and after pictures of working and sporting dogs that had a myriad of significant issues that were resolved by changing their diet.  By the end of the class, you will be armed with the ability to look at your canine and see the effects of poor diet and what changes you can do to correct them.
