Rebekah Jones (Atlanta, GA), Mike Alexander and Cliff Sutherland (Morgantown WV) are three of the four founders and promoters of OC BikeFest Motorcycle Rally in Ocean City Maryland. Rebekah’s company TRRU Events (40 years in the event business) did MountainFest Motorcycle Rally production in Morgantown WV. Mike and Cliff were on the non-profit MountainFest Board. We and our families bonded and frequently visit each other. Many times, we meet in Ocean City to be together. Not working on either event anymore we have been looking for a way to work together which really is an excuse to enjoy each other’s company.

We believe in giving back to the communities we live and work in. At both motorcycle rallies we had a great relationship with the Hog and Heroes Foundation. They provided security and Back of House support. Hogs and Heroes Foundation https://www.hogsheroesfoundation.com is a non-profit 501c3 community of motorcycle riders that support Public Safety, the US Military and Wounded Warriors. Andy “Devil Doc” Mutchler, President and Founder, contacted us about doing an event in Ocean City. He suggested doing an event that supported police K9 and motorcycle training and certification the week after bike week. The police travel in their official K9 vehicles and motorcycles which would benefit Ocean city by providing an additional 500 police vehicles year one. Having this event would help deter participants from attending an unsanctioned event that causes havoc on its citizens and visitors.

Devil Doc invited us to attend a taping of Unleashed Dogs Without Limits TV show as seen on the Pursuit Channel.  It was being filmed at Patriot’s Point located in Madison MD (Taylor’s Island). Patriot Point https://patriotpoint.org is the Military Bowl Foundation’s 294-acre retreat that provides a relaxing and safe environment for our nation’s wounded, ill and injured service members, their families and caregivers. We met Hugh Middleton, VP of Operations and Development, and took a tour of the facility. What a difference this makes for our service members and families.

While at Patriot’s Point we also met Chris Willingham, President of United States War Dogs Association, Inc https://www.uswardogs.org/chris-willingham. Chris is a retired Master Sargent who served 20 years in the United States Marine Corps.

Chris and his Military Working Dog (MWD) Lucca led more than 400 missions until Lucca suffered a severe injury on the battlefield.

We met Dave Dourson of Kinetic Performance Dog Food, presenting Sponsor of Pursuit TV show Unleashed Dogs Without Limits. After discussing the event with Dave, he is working with Pursuit TV to film two episodes during the event for Season 3.

After attending the taping of the show, we are all in on doing the event in Ocean City. We wanted to do an event together that helped Ocean City and provide support for non-profits. Hogs and Heroes will be working with us to provide security and support. We have chosen these non-profits to benefit from this event.

  • Maryland Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors  https://mdcops.org with the Mission: Rebuilding shattered lives of survivors and co-workers affected by line of duty deaths through partnerships with law enforcement and the community.

  • We are forming a Police Foundation that will benefit all Police agencies in Worchester and Wicomico County. We are looking for local leaders and businesspeople to serve on the board.

Additionally, we decided a hunting fishing gun expo would complement the event. We have partnered with Annette Elliot, Showmasters Gun Shows, with over 50 years in the business and operates 92 shows a year.

The event will take place at the Convention Center the week of September 19th – 25th and will be called OC AdventureFest. There will be

  1.     K9 training and certification

  2.     MD C.O.P.S Support meetings

  3.     H & H Memorial Ride & Walk

  4.     Hunting Fishing Gun Expo

  5.     Concerts in the Performance Arts Center with police and military interest

  6.     FREE Public viewing September 24th of motorcycle rodeo and K-9 exhibitions.

We hope you will support this event and attend. We believe that within five years we will have over 10,000 police, military and their families and friends attend annually.
